In a story from The Hollywood Reporter, Shanley Caswell and Spencer Locke have come aboard the horror comedy Detention opposite Josh Hutcherson and Dane Cook.

Joseph Kahn (Torque) is directing this project. It follows teenagers who have a great deal more on their minds than finals during their senior year of high school. It seems that a serial killer is on the loose. Caswell is going to play a cute but awkward girl trying to find with her school crush (Josh Hutcherson), and Spencer Locke is going to play her nemesis, the head cheerleader.

Kahn wrote the script with Mark Palermo. The budget is $10 million and it starts shooting this month in Los Angeles.
