The Hollylwood Reporter has confirmed that the somewhat-anticipated sequel Sharknado 2: The Second One will debut on Syfy Thursday, July 31 at 9 PM ET, just over one year after Sharknado premiered on the network, causing a social media frenzy.

The site has also confirmed a slew of new cameo appearances from blogger Perez Hilton, Biz Markie, Salt-N-Pepa's Sandra Denton (a.k.a. Pepa), Robert Klein and professional wrestler Kurt Angle.

It isn't known what characters Perez Hilton, Biz Markie and Sandra Denton are playing, but Robert Klein portrays the mayor of New York City, while Kurt Angle appears as the FDNY fire chief. The story centers on a freak storm filled with killer sharks that has shifted coasts from L.A. to New York. Ian Ziering and Tara Reid reprise their Sharknado roles as Finn and April, the only ones who can save the Big Apple. Other new cast members include Vivica A. Fox, Kelly Osbourne, Mark McGrath, Judah Friedlander, Andy Dick and Judd Hirsch.
