With exactly three months left until Sharknado 2: The Second One debuts on Syfy July 30, Ad Week is reporting that the cable network has given the green light for Sharknado 3, which will debut in 2015.

Sharknado and Sharknado 2: The Second One stars Ian Ziering and Tara Reid are expected to return, although that's not set in stone since it isn't known if they will even survive Sharknado 2: The Second One. The sequel will be set in an undetermined city. Sharknado was set in Los Angeles, while the upcoming Sharknado 2: The Second One brings this twister full of deadly sharks to New York City. Sharknado 2: The Second One also boasts a supporting cast including Vivica A. Fox, Kelly Osbourne, Mark McGrath, Judah Friedlander, Andy Dick and Judd Hirsch.

The original Sharknado, which cost just $250,000 to produce, created a whirlwind of social media activity when it debuted on Syfy on July 11. It isn't known if director Anthony C. Ferrante or screenwriter Thunder Levin will return for the follow-up, or when Syfy plans to start production.
