Variety reports that Maria Bello and Michael Sheen have finished production on director Shawn Ku's Beautiful Boy.

Ku wrote the screenplay with Michael Armbruster.

Bello and Sheen are a married couple that are about to part ways. Then they find out that their 18-year-old son committed a mass shooting at his college, just before taking his own life.

The film just finished shooting in L.A. It is Ku's directing debut. Also in the cast is Moon Bloodgood, Alan Tudyk, Kyle Gallner, Austin Nichols and Meat Loaf.
