Dwayne Johnson is a man who constantly has something on his plate, and his schedule for 2015 and 2016 is stacked. But that doesn't mean he won't find time to join the DC Movie Universe a few years early. While we're not supposed to see the man otherwise known as The Rock on the big screen as Black Adam in Shazam! until 2019, there's a chance he might suit up before then. Speaking with IGN, he teases that he may join Justice League Part 1, which will be in theaters summer 2017. This would be two years before he is actually supposed to appear in his own movie. Though, in a later tweet, he makes the statement that he'd rather fight this iconic team of superheroes rather than join them.

During his latest interview, which he conducted while promoting his upcoming sequel Furious 7, he offers some background on Black Adam, and teases his origins as a slave. He then goes onto hint that we may see him as part of the DC Comics family sooner than expected. About whether or not there is a chance he will join the Justice League, he says:

I think so, and I think you always want to leave that creatively open, that he could join the Justice League and I think... that's the fun part of creating this character right now and everybody involved, from the studio, from New Line, to Warner Bros as well, to the writer, our producing partners. You want to... you definitely want to engage in his heroic side, but that has to be earned and with the mythology of Black Adam starting off as a slave, because when you start off as a slave, just inherently, there's things in your DNA that piss you off. And that's the bottomline, so I think we have to respect and pay homage to the true mythology and then the heroic side will come down the line, but I think it's important and we all feel it's important and I believe the fans at IGN feel it's important to make sure the homage is paid at the beginning because then you have a stronger foundation to stand on, and so he will become an anti-hero, but at first... daddy's got to go to work.

Many are hoping that Black Adam will have a showdown with Henry Cavill's Superman, something that has happened in the comics. While that wouldn't likely happen in a standalone Shazam! movie, it certainly could happen if Black Adam becomes one of the villains in Justice League Part 1. In a tweet sent out after the interview, Dwayne Johnson clarifies that he'd much rather brawl with Batman and Superman than become their friends and fight beside them. What do you think? Do you want to see The Rock suit up early for Justice League Part 1 or Justice League Part 2? Or should he just stick to his solo adventure for now?
