With Shazam! production well under way, a new photo has surfaced from one of the young stars of the cast, Jovan Armand, who sent out an unusual photo with himself and several of his young stars posing with a Batman statue. There is no indication as to where this photo was actually taken place, although it doesn't appear to be on the actual set. This photo has even sparked rumors that Shazam! may feature an appearance by Ben Affleck's Bruce Wayne, although that has yet to be confirmed.

After making his DCEU debut as Batman in the 2016 blockbuster Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, Ben Affleck also made a brief cameo in 2016's Suicide Squad as the Caped Crusader, as he tried to bring down The Joker (Jared Leto). While Affleck returned in last year's Justice League, there have been no shortage of rumors about his involvement in the DCEU from here on out, including rumors that he may be dropping out of the stand alone movie known as The Batman, which he was once set to star in and direct from a script he co-wrote with Geoff Johns. Now Matt Reeves has taken the helm, tossing their script and working from scratch.

While we'll likely never get any confirmation on a Batman appearance in Shazam!, it seems unlikely, given the uncertain nature of Ben Affleck's future with the DCEU. Though we have seen in other Easter eggs spotted on set that Gotham does exist in this world. Jovan Armand also released a few other photos with the same cast members, with Zachary Levi joining in on the fun as well, although he wasn't featured in the first image. Production is expected to last through early May, giving director David F. Sandberg (Lights Out) just under a year in post-production, with Warner Bros. setting an April 5, 2019 release date for the movie. As of now, it will have that date all to itself, although it will be sandwiched between Disney's live-action Dumbo on March 29 and Universal's The Voyage of Doctor Dolittle on April 12, 2019.

Shazam! follows the exploits of a 14-year-old foster kid named Billy Batson (Asher Angel), who was given the power to turn into an adult hero known as Shazam!, simply by saying his name. When originally given these powers by an ancient wizard, Billy first tries to have some fun with his abilities, but he soon must master his newfound strengths to take on the villainous Dr. Thaddeus Sivana (Mark Strong). David F. Sandberg directs Shazam! from a script by Henry Gayden (Earth to Echo) and Darren Lemke (Goosebumps).

The cast is rounded out by Jack Dylan Grazer as Billy's best friend Freddy, who is also a part of the foster family that includes Mary (Grace Fulton), Darla (Faithe Herman), Eugene(Ian Chen) and Pedro (Jovan Armand). Cooper Andrews and Marta Milans portray foster parents Victor and Rosa Vasquez, with Ron Cephas Jones playing The Wizard. Christopher Godsick, Jeffrey Chernov, Dwayne Johnson, Dany Garcia and Hiram Garcia are serving as executive producers on Shazam!, which is being filmed in Toronto, with the story set in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
