Sherri Shepherd -- who just landed a spot on The View -- is plotting a primetime comeback, according to Variety.

The comedic actress is developing a half-hour sitcom for the CW that's loosely based on her own life experiences. She's set to produce and star in the project. Dave Flebotte (Will & Grace) will write the script.

The untitled series will revolve around a married woman who discovers her husband has been cheating on her and has an illegitimate child. She agrees to let the child and her mother move in with the family.

Shepherd has talked openly on The View about her marital difficulties, including her husband's infidelity and the child that resulted from that affair.

Shepherd most recently was seen in a recurring role on NBC's 30 Rock and also co-starred in Less Than Perfect.
