Shia LaBeouf has been attached to star in Mandalay Pictures' Horns, an adaptation of Joe Hill's novel. We first reported on the project back in October 2009 when Mandalay acquired the rights to the novel.

The actor will play Ig Perrish, a 26-year-old man who wakes up after a night of hard drinking and discovers there are horns growing out of his head. As the horns keep growing, he discovers they may have a mysterious connection to the unsolved murder of his girlfriend.

In Treatment writer Keith Bunin is adapting the novel by Joe Hill, who is also the son of horror legend Stephen King. Joe Hill will executive produce Horns, with Peter Guber and Cathy Schulman serving as producers.

No production schedule was released for Horns. A director isn't attached yet, although that could change in the near future with Shia LaBeouf on board.
