According to Variety, Jenji Kohan, the creator and exec producer of Weeds, is producing and co-writing Ronna and Beverly, a project for Showtime and Lionsgate TV.

Aiding Jenji are screenwriters Jessica Chaffin and Jamie Denbo.

The show is adapted from a comedy routine by Chaffin and Denbo. It follows "two middle-aged women in Boston who decide to self-publish and aggressively promote a dating guide for Jewish singles, You'll Do a Little Better Next Time." Chaffin and Denbo also play the title roles.

Paul Feig will be directing and producing the project. It is set to start shooting in February.

"They've created two of the most fully realized characters I've ever seen," Kohan said. "It came together so easily when we all sat down to write the script."
