Showtime and the BBC are teaming together for a contemporary take on the story of Camelot, and have attached The Tudors creators Michael Hirst and Morgan O'Sullivan to take the creative controls.

According to Variety, Hirst (Elizabeth, Elizabeth: The Golden Age) will pen the scripts and exec produce Camelot, along with O'Sullivan (P.S. I Love You) and Douglas Rae.

The pay cabler and the BBC are co-financing development of scripts for the hourlong project. If greenlit, series would be produced by Ecosse Films and Octagon Filmes.
