Showtime Home Entertainment is going down for the count.

Home Media Retailing reports "that in June or July, the home entertainment division of Showtime Networks, which Viacom bought in 1985, will be completely absorbed by CBS Video, which Paramount Pictures Home Entertainment distributes."

Paramount will, in effect, become Showtime's new distributor.

Tom Sykes, Showtime VP of sales has also left his post and opened up a new DVD shingle, New Light Entertainment, which currently has "a distribution agreement with Universal Music & Video Distribution."
