Sicario 2 is now officially titled Sicario: Day of the Soldado, and a new trailer will premiere this evening. In addition, Benicio Del Toro sat down for a new interview where he discussed the upcoming sequel. The first footage for the movie made its debut late last year, which already seems like it was a long time ago, and fans have been waiting for more footage ever since. Luckily, the new trailer will debut tonight, ahead of the June 29th release date.

Benicio Del Toro's Alejandro is on a new mission in Sicario 2: Soldado, after getting hired by Josh Brolin's Matt Graver to start a war between two cartels. Brolin has said that the sequel is more "intense" and "bigger" than the first installment and it appears that the vengeance aspect will be as well. According to Del Toro, the vengeance still consumes Alejandro and he still has a personal vendetta against the Mexican drug lords that murdered his family. Del Toro explains.

"This is a man bent on revenge for what the cartels have done, killing his daughter and family. Now he finds himself on a new assignment."

While Alejandro is "bent on revenge," as Benicio Del Toro says, we're also going to see a softer side to the man in Sicario: Day of the Soldado. Part of Alejandro's new mission is to kidnap Isabela Reyes (Isabela Moner), the teenage daughter of the kingpin Carlos Reyes. Later, the mission is exposed, and Alejandro is ordered to murder Isabela, which is when we see a different side to the killer. Del Toro explains.

"He has the chance for an eye for an eye, but sees a young girl going through what his daughter went through. He has to decide to follow orders or protect the girl. It's just one thing about this screenplay that makes it interesting."

Sicario: Day of the Soldado was shot in Mexico City as well as New Mexico and 16-year old Isabela Moner noted that filming could get pretty intense. She mentioned that she has no idea where Benicio Del Toro goes within himself to get to such dark places while the camera is rolling. Moner also says that as soon as the camera stopped, Del Toro had the rest of the crew laughing and even gave the young actress acting advice.

Sicario 2: Soldado, aka Sicario: Day of the Soldado, will hit theaters on June 29th, marking the third high profile movie that Josh Brolin will star in this summer. In addition to the sequel, Brolin also has one of the main roles in Infinity War as the villainous Thanos and then, just a few weeks later, he shows up in Deadpool 2 as Cable. All three roles could not be any more different from each other and one has to wonder where the actor finds all of the time to film these movies.
