According to The Hollywood Reporter, Fox Searchlight's Sideways sold more than 1.5 million combined DVD and VHS units Tuesday, its first day in release on home video. The $70 million boxoffice indie comedy is on track to sell about 3.5 million combined units, making it a huge success for a title with a boxoffice of less than $100 million.
20th Century Fox Home Entertainment's actioner Elektra, sold about 1 million combined DVD and VHS units Tuesday, translating to another successful showing for a title with a boxoffice of less than $25 million. The animated Walt Disney Studios/Pixar Animation $261.3 million boxoffice hit The Incredibles has sold more than 14 million combined units since its release March 15th, keeping it atop both DVD and VHS Nielsen VideoScan sales charts.
