Production moves ahead on the fourth season of The Boys with guest star Simon Pegg announcing that he's wrapped up his work on his character's return. In the first season, Pegg made his debut in the series as Hugh Campbell Sr., the father of Jack Quaid's Hughie Campbell. The character was absent in season 2 before making a brief appearance in season 3, video chatting with Hughie in one scene. It was previously revealed he'd be back in season 4, and the actor announced on Thursday that he's wrapped up his work.

"That’s a wrap for me on this season of The Boys," Pegg said on Instagram, sharing an image from the set of the Vought Studios logo. "More fun than a Compound V enema. So proud to be part of this incredible show. Will miss everyone. Season 4 is going to be INSANE!!!"

It sounds like the elder Campbell will have more to do in the new season. The new post follows a previous image shared from the set on Jan. 10 with Pegg using the hashtag #pizzarolls to announce that he'd started filming. Just over a week later, he's been wrapped, and that he was actually on location would suggest he'll have more involvement compared to his remote cameo in season 3. The only question is, does that spell doom for the character, especially given Pegg's note that he's going to "miss" everyone?

In any case, we can expect for the new season of The Boys to be just as wild as the first three, if not more so. A promising update recently came when VFX supervisor and producer Stephan Fleet teased season 4 by noting that he witnessed the "most disgusting thing" he'd ever seen in the business up to this point in his career, which is saying a lot as that's including everything outside of the previous seasons of The Boys.

"I think I just saw the msot disgusting thing I have seen working in this business thus far," Fleet tweeted.

As of now, the fourth season of The Boys doesn't have a premiere date set at Prime Video. The first three seasons are now streaming, as is the animated anthology series spinoff The Boys Presents: Diabolical. The live-action spinoff series, Gen V, will premiere on Prime Video as well sometime this year.
