Producer Jason Blum is lining up a sequel to last year's hit horror-thriller Sinister through his Blumhouse Productions company.

Sinister co-writers Scott Derrickson and C. Robert Cargill will write the screenplay, although Derrickson will not return as the director. Blumhouse is reportedly meeting with new filmmakers to tackle the follow-up. It makes sense that Scott Derrickson will not direct, since he and C. Robert Cargill are working on the video game adaptation Deus Ex: Human Revolution.

Ethan Hawke starred in the original Sinister as a true crime author who moved into the same house where a family was brutally murdered. He discovers that an evil presence lurks within his new abode, and that his family is in serious danger. Sinister grossed more than $77 million worldwide from just a $3 million budget.
