Every studio is searching for that next big kid fantasy book to turn into a franchise. Well, according to Variety, Warner Brothers has bought the rights to Skulduggery Pleasant.
Irish author Derek Landy wrote the debut novel in what is planned to be a nine-book series. He is also writing the screenplay, which revolves around a skeleton detective and his young female apprentice. Together, they try to stop the evil Faceless Ones from destroying Dublin.
Warner Brothers' Jeff Robinov stated, "We're looking forward to collaborating with our London creative team to bring Derek's darkly witty book to the bigscreen."
There is no word on when we can look forward to seeing the film.
