In a story from The Hollywood Reporter, Universal Home Entertainment's Smokin' Aces took the top positions on both Nielsen VideoScan's First Alert sales chart and Home Media Magazine's rental chart last week.
20th Century Fox's The Last King of Scotland came in at the No. 2 spot "on the sales and rental charts."
Paramount's Freedom Writers placed at No. 4 in sales and No. 3 in rentals. Warner Bros. Happy Feet finally got knocked from it's No. 1 sales perch (it had held that spot for three weeks), coming in at No. 3 in sales.
In closing, "Blu-ray Disc titles accounted for 60% of sales, while HD-DVD took 40%, nine points more than the previous week. Observers attribute to the lift to the strength of Aces the week's top HD-DVD seller, which was not available on Blu-ray. The top-selling Blu-ray title for the week ending April 22 was Sony Pictures' Casino Royale."
