Starting December 15th, NBC will begin airing Saturday Night Live compilations to precede the original late night sketch comedy show. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the clip show will begin before the 11p.m. local news.

The four 90-minute "best-of" programs will air the four consecutive Saturdays beginning Dec. 15th. These will be a test of sorts to see if any more will be made and, sources say, are not related to the current writer's strike. The four SNL clip shows will be "The Best of Will Ferrell", "The Best of Chris Farley, "The Best of 2006-07" and "SNL Goes Commercial".
