According to Variety, Alan Rickman, Sigourney Weaver, Carrie-Anne Moss and Kim Cattrall began principal photography on Canada/U.K. co-production "Snow Cake" on Sunday.
The cast was drawn to the project on the strength of the script penned by Brit first-time screenwriter Angela Pell.
The picture centers on the friendship between a high-functioning autistic woman (Weaver) and a shy, tortured man (Rickman) who is traumatized after being involved in a fatal car accident.
The pic is lensing in Wawa, Ontario, and relocates to Toronto at the end of the month. The shoot is scheduled to wind up May 19.
