With the success of the third and final season of Star Trek: Picard on Paramount+, long-time Trekkies and newly converted fans to the Trek franchise are already wondering when we can expect a spin-off of series. While fans have been pitching potential spin-off ideas since the first episode aired, the idea that has made the biggest waves across the Alpha Quadrant so far is a series starring "the next generation of The Next Generation," titled Star Trek: Legacy.

Following LeVar Burton and Mica Burton's Trekstoric (blame Stan Lee for the cheese) appearances as in-universe father-daughter duo, Geordi and Alandra La Forge, the real-life father-daughter duo appeared on The View to discuss the series and its potential for a spin-off. When Whoopi Goldberg, a former Picard and Star Trek: Next Generation herself, asked the Burtons about whether they'd be willing to return for a "Legacy" spin-off, both LeVar and Mica said unequivocally that they would.

LeVar continued, "What the writers have done is they’ve really set it up well. We’ve got the next generation of The Next Generation… It makes a whole lot of sense."

Check out the clip below, as tweeted by their Picard co-star Todd Stashwick, who plays Captain Liam Shaw of the U.S.S. Titan-A.

LeVar went on to point out that the show could easily feature both La Forge sisters, Alandra and Ashlei Sharpe Chestnut's Sidney La Forge (a pilot), as well as Picard and Beverly Crusher's son Jack (Ed Speleers). In past interviews, Mica has even offered pitch ideas for an upcoming series starring the La Forge sisters.

"Older sisters don't always know what they're doing. You need the younger sister's intuition to kind of be there and keep her out of trouble," Mica told Collider. "I think that any sister dynamic is always fun to watch happen, any sibling dynamic. So two siblings on a starship, that's never happened before. We need to see that. We need to see how that would go down."

There is an undeniable chemistry between Sidney, Alandra, and Jack on Picard, and the three actors became close while working on set together. Burton also told Collider, "I would love to continue this role, and I know that Ashlei Sharpe, who plays Sidney, she has become my sister in real life. Ed and I have also become great friends. All three of us are pals. We would love to continue being the next Next Generation together."

Luckily, for Crash La Forge, in the 25th century, they don't need roads. (Oh, and bring back Lea Thompson).
