After months of CGI revamps due to fan backlash of the first trailer, Paramount Pictures has unveiled our first look at the redesigned Sonic in an all-new official trailer for the Sonic the Hedgehog movie. Based on the global blockbuster videogame franchise from Sega, Sonic the Hedgehog tells the story of the world's speediest hedgehog as he embraces his new home on Earth. In this live-action adventure comedy, Sonic and his new best friend Tom (James Marsden) team up to defend the planet from the evil genius Dr. Robotnik (Jim Carrey) and his plans for world domination. The family-friendly film also stars Tika Sumpter and Ben Schwartz as the voice of Sonic.

The original Sonic the Hedgehog design had human features which fans hated and promptly registered their disgust online. The human teeth, long legs, and weird eyes are all gone now and it appears that even the shoes have been overhauled. Sonic the Hedgehog was originally scheduled to hit theaters on November 8th, but it was given a new release date of February 14th, 2020 due to the redesign. While some fans of the video game franchise were disappointed to see the release date get pushed back, many were excited that they were able to help create the change.
