Sony Pictures Classics has nabbed all North American and Latin American rights to Quinceanera, the recent winner of the Grand Jury prize and audience award in the Sundance Film Festival's dramatic feature competition.

The Hollywood Reporter says writer-directors Richard Glatzer and Wash Westmoreland's coming-of-age drama centers on a Mexican-American girl (played by Emily Rios in her film debut) who discovers she is pregnant while planning her eponymous 15th birthday party. Rejected by her family, she moves in with her great-great-uncle and a similarly outcast gay cousin only to face another challenge with the landlords in the quickly gentrifying Los Angeles neighborhood of Echo Park.
