It didn't take long for a Will Ferrell-Mark Wahlberg picture to find a home. According to Variety, Sony Pictures has picked up the spec comedy pitch, The B Team as a starring vehicle for Will Ferrell and Mark Wahlberg.

It was reported yesterday that this project was being shopped around to the studios and Sony acted quickly to acquire this project. Frequent Will Ferrell collaborator Adam McKay will direct from a script he's currently writing with Chris Henchy. The studio had previously acquired the Ferrell-McKay films Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby and Step Brothers based off their pitches, without a completed script, just like this project.

Not much is known about the film, but it was said that Ferrell and Wahlberg would both portray cops. A production date hasn't been set yet, but it was said that production would start immediately after the filmmakers could ready the script.
