It's time to head back to South Park. Comedy Central has announced that an all-new season of South Park, which serves as the 25th overall season of the long-running animated series, will be premiering on the channel on Feb. 2. The announcement came as part of a sneak peek teaser that does not show us any footage of the new episodes but unveils a new image teasing season 25. You can watch the teaser video below.

“To be halfway done with South Park is a great accomplishment-we can’t lie,” creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone said in a statement, per Deadline.

“For the past 25 years, multiple generations of fans have grown up enchanted by the outlandishly funny and subversive world that Matt and Trey have created with South Park,” adds Chris McCarthy, President and CEO of ViacomCBS Media Networks and MTV Entertainment Studios. “As part of our expansive new deal, we are thrilled to continue our partnership with them for many more seasons of South Park on Comedy Central and many more made-for-streaming South Park exclusive events on Paramount+.”

This will be the first full season of South Park since season 24 in 2019. The pandemic has altered the show's release schedule, though in the interim, fans have been treated to a slew of specials poking fun at the pandemic and Covid-19. We will be back to weekly episodes when season 25 premiered, though the South Park "movies" that stream exclusively on Paramount+ will also continue as part of a deal to make 14 original movies through 2027.

Back in August, it was announced that Trey Parker and Matt Stone had just signed a massive deal with ViacomCBS. The duo were reportedly paid around $900 million, making it one of the richest deals ever. It will keep South Park on the air on Comedy Central with new episodes being produced through 2027. The 14 original South Park movies on Paramount+ were also part of the deal.

"Comedy Central has been our home for 25 years and we're really happy that they've made a commitment to us for the next 75 years," Stone and Parker said at the time. "When we came to ViacomCBS with a different way to produce the show during the pandemic, Chris (McCarthy), Nina (Diaz), Keyes (Hill-Edgar) and Tanya (Giles) were immediately supportive and enabled us to try something new that turned out to be really well received. We can't wait to get back to doing traditional South Park episodes but now we can also try out new formats. It's great to have partners who will always take a chance with us."

Those traditional South Park episodes are almost here as season 25 will premiere on Feb. 2, 2022. New episodes of the season will then follow weekly on Comedy Central. For even more of the foul-mouthed elementary schoolers, fans can also check out the special movies that can be found streaming on Paramount+.
