Fans of Spider-Man can now experience the adventure of Spider-Man 3 while going portable. Spider-Man 3 for the PSP has just been released, and promises to be the most exciting Spider-Man game for a portable game system yet.

From the press release:

Based on Sony Pictures Entertainment's Columbia Pictures/Marvel Studios' feature film, Spider-Man 3 for the PSP (PlayStation Portable) system allows players to experience the actions of Marvel's heroic red-suited Spider-Man and his darker, more mysterious persona, Black-Suited Spider-Man. Set in the first fully-streaming Spider-Man environment for the PSP, the game gives players the freedom to choose their own gameplay experience through multiple movie-based and original storylines. In Spider-Man 3 PSP, players draw upon Spider-Man's unique combat and powerful, upgradeable moves to protect the denizens of Manhattan by defeating movie villains and classic Marvel villains during missions and epic boss battles.

One of the key features of the game is the ability to switch back and forth between the "classic" Spider-Man costume and the alien Black Costume. The suit increases Spidey's power and agility, but there is a price for wearing the suit - Spider-Man becomes more aggressive, and the city's satisfaction with their hero decreases as he becomes a darker figure.

Additionally, for the first time ever on the PSP, players have access to a New York city they can roam through at will, allowing them to follow the plot as they wish. Players will also be able to earn Hero Points which allow them to customize and upgrade the web-slinger.

The game will feature movie villains from Spider-Man 3, including Venom, Sandman and the New Goblin, as well as numerous foes of Spider-Man from Marvel Comics.

Finally, the game features voices from the movies, with Tobey Maguire, James Franco, Topher Grace, Thomas Haden Church and J.K. Simmons all reprising their roles from Spider-Man 3. As a special bonus, Bruce Campbell reprises his role as in-game narrator from previous Spider-Man games.
