C. Thomas Howell revealed on his Facebook profile this weekend that he has taken on a part in Marc Webb's upcoming Untitled Spider-Man Reboot. He did not, however, say which character he is playing. Here is the message he left for his fans:

I have just signed the deal for the new Spider-Man movie! I will start the work on January 25th."

C. Thomas Howell rose to fame in the 80s appearing in such hit films as E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial, Red Dawn, and The Hitcher, but then faded into obscurity after donning blackface in the 1986 comedy Soul Man. He has once again risen to prominence after his powerful portrayal of alcoholic police officer Billy Dewey on NBC/TNT's Southland.
