Marvel fans everywhere are celebrating Spider-Man Day while many question if we'll soon see the trailer to Spider-Man: No Way Home. In August 1962, Spider-Man first entered the scene by making his comic book debut in Marvel Comics' Amazing Fantasy No. 15. With great power comes great responsibility, and many fans feel that it's their duty to recognize the wisecracking web-slinger on the first of August every year for an annual Spider-Man Day.

The history of Spidey dates back to when he was created by Steve Ditko and Stan Lee. First drawn in 1962, the superhero has since become one of the most recognizable and well-known comic book characters ever, and after nearly 60 years, he's even more popular than before. A look on social media reveals the hashtag #SpiderManDay is trending as thousands of fans celebrate all things Spider-Man.

"Happy #SpiderManDay peeps here is one of my favorite scenes from my favorite Spider-Man movie," says one fan, including a clip of Tobey Maguire stopping a speeding locomotive with his webbing.

"Happy #spidermanday to the best Spiderman!" another tweet reads along with a clip of the animated Miles Morales in Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse.

"Happy #SpiderManDay," says another fan. "The greatest hero of all time and a big part of my childhood everything from the pass to the present and I'm so excited for the future. Love you Spidey!"

Meanwhile, many others are hoping we'll be getting that trailer for Spider-Man: No Way Home soon ahead of its official release in December. As one fan puts it: "Happy Spiderman Day. Perfect day to release that trailer."

You can't fault Spidey fans for getting especially excited about the release of Spider-Man: No Way Home. We know that the movie brings back Tom Holland for his third solo outing as Spidey in the MCU, but it's been heavily rumored that former Spidey actors Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield will make surprise appearances. While Maguire is keeping quiet and Garfield has insisted he's not involved, fans would probably be shocked if there's only one Spider-Man in No Way Home.

Spider-Man: No Way Home will at the very least bring back major villains from alternate Spider-Man movie timelines. It's been confirmed Alfred Molina will be back as Doc Ock from Spider-Man 2 along with Jamie Foxx as Electro from The Amazing Spider-Man 2. It's certainly reasonable that the heroes will show up as well, and given the establishment of the multiverse in the movie, it feels more likely than not. In any case, we'll all find out for sure when the highly anticipated feature is released into theaters on Dec. 17, 2021. In the film, Jon Watts directs using a screenplay by Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers.

So, how can one celebrate Spider-Man Day? For some fans, a movie marathon is in order, whether we're talking Tobey Maguire, Andrew Garfield, Tom Holland, or even a mixture of all three. Others are expressing their admiration for Spidey on Twitter and other social media platforms. How you choose to celebrate is up to you. Let's just hope that No Way Home trailer isn't too far off. Happy Spider-Man Day!
