Now that Doctor Strange has arrived, Marvel fans are looking forward to what the studio has coming next year. That includes a few big movies, but perhaps most importantly, Peter Parker will be making his solo movie debut in the Marvel Cinematic Universe release Spider-Man: Homecoming. We are still waiting for a trailer, but now we have a new poster to feast our eyes on.

The new poster made its way onto Twitter via the Tom Holland Brazil account. This image for Spider-Man: Homecoming doesn't give us much new to look at, since it is pretty much the first logo that was released for the movie with a picture of Tom Holland as Spider-Man hanging out on the left side of it. Still, despite being simple, it is a good poster. According to the tweet, the poster debuted at a Marvel visual effects event that took place in Italy recently. This may not wind up being the official poster for the movie, but Marvel is about to start the promotion for Spider-Man: Homecoming, so we'll be seeing more very soon.

During the summer at San Diego Comic-Con, Marvel Studios showed a teaser for Spider-Man: Homecoming to the fans in attendance at their Hall H panel. The footage never made its way online, but fans have been dying to see what director Jon Watts has in store for us, considering the very positive reception to the footage from those who saw it. We won't have to wait much longer, as recent reports have stated that the first official Homecoming trailer will debut with Rogue One: A Star Wars Story on December 16. Since trailers very often make their way online before they debut in theaters, we could be seeing the trailer, and probably an official poster, in just a couple of weeks.

Tom Holland made his debut as the new live-action Peter Parker/Spider-Man in Captain America: Civil War over the summer. There was some fatigue and hesitation about recasting the role yet again after Sony's failed The Amazing Spider-Man franchise reboot. However, his portrayal was met with an overwhelmingly positive response from both fans and critics, even though he was only technically featured in two scenes (not counting the post-credits scene). So expectations are very high for Spider-Man and hopefully Marvel Studios can deliver on the promise. A couple of missteps aside, the studio has a tremendous track record, so it is hard to imagine they will blow it.

If the movie fails, it probably won't be the cast's fault, because Marvel has assembled a massive stable of talent for Spider-Man: Homecoming. The cast includes Oscar nominee Michael Keaton as the villain Vulture as well as Zendaya, Bokeem Woodbine, Marisa Tomei, Martin Starr, Angourie Rice, Logan Marshall-Green, Donald Glover, Hannibal Buress, Tony Revolori, Jon Favreau and Robert Downey Jr.. Spider-Man: Homecoming is set for release on July 7, 2017. You can check out the new poster for the movie for yourself below.
