One of the biggest movies of all time was Spider-Man: No Way Home. Ticket sales broke the internet when they were made available, and ultimately the movie did not disappoint. From action to comedy, to sadness, the movie had everything a moviegoer could ever want. That’s not all it had, though, as a new world of possibilities was opened up when Peter Parker asked Dr. Strange to reset his world and the entire Multiverse was opened up due to his spell gone wrong. Fans were so excited to see villains like Green Goblin and Electro take the screen, but movie theaters exploded when Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield popped up. All these fan service moments were amazing, and fans won’t ever forget them. More importantly, No Way Home proved there are so many new avenues Marvel can choose to go now.

Marvel has already shown some possibilities of characters and villains they could introduce with Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. However, it does not have to just stop with villains; Marvel could introduce new, and reintroduce old, heroes now that they have opened up this door. One thing fans wept over in Avengers: Endgame was the deaths and departures of beloved characters, especially of Iron Man and Captain America. Well, now they could be back.

Heroes and Villains That Could Be Brought Back

Spider-Man: No Way Home showed us that anything and anyone from the MCU could be brought back in upcoming films or features. In an interview with MTV News, Chris Evans recently said that he would only be willing to return to the MCU as Johnny Storm, aka the Human Torch. This all but closes the idea of Captain America coming back, for the time being. Conversely, Robert Downey Jr. made it clear that his appearance in Avengers: Endgame would be his last as Iron Man. However, wouldn’t it be amazing to see them face off against Thanos again in a time when it is reversed? Another Thanos could try to finish what his predecessor couldn’t. Spider-Man and Thor are fighting Thanos and all of a sudden, here comes Iron Man and Captain America to save them this time? That would be the best way to go out. They could also pull this off, by simply having Iron Man and Captain America come out from a different universe. Nick Fury is also getting his own TV show soon on Disney+, Secret Invasion, which will be a fun watch for fans. Seeing some original faces like Samuel L. Jackson and Colbie Smulders will be a nice throwback for fans.

New Heroes and Villains

According to Screen Rant, there are not going to be any heroes or villains brought back during MCU Phase 4 that were already fought. That being said, there are so many new heroes to get excited about. One that fans are very pumped for is the possibility of a new Fantastic Four, with John Krasinski as the lead. Fans across the nation exploded at the sight of Krasinski appearing on-screen in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. Another hero that fans are excited to see is Natalie Portman returning to her Jane Foster role in Thor: Love and Thunder. Fans are also very excited to see what happens in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. The fact that they are letting Letitia Wright's Shuri continue the legacy that Chadwick Boseman left as Black Panther is how it should naturally go. Seeing Shuri shine as the hero will be amazing, especially with how smart she is.

Doppelgangers For Upcoming MCU Films

Venom-Spider-Man
Sony Pictures Releasing

Think about how cool this would be: What if there were doppelgangers in upcoming MCU films? The MCU has already somewhat teased this idea with Spider-Man: No Way Home. But what if there were villain doppelgangers also? This would be something that the MCU could borrow from the Arrowverse. In the Arrowverse, the Multiverse is almost a commonplace to start plots. The Flash has Barry Allen frequently traveling to other Earths in search of help. During the Crisis on Earth X, the team was faced with fighting doppelganger versions of themselves.

This idea has been explored somewhat in Spider-Man 3, when Venom first shows up for fans. The fact that the Venom series has already taken on legs of its own shows that there is a high likelihood that he will show up in the MCU at some point. The interesting part of Spider-Man 3 is how they originally gave the Symbiote to Peter Parker. This could be a very interesting way to go about it in the future. With Tobey Maguire already having been on for one Spider-Man movie, it would not be out of the question to think he might want to do a movie in which he has to fight Tom Holland' Peter Parker as Venom. Fans would not be able to get enough of it. There are so many different possibilities that can come from opening up the entire multiverse.
