Given the amount of money that's already come in for Spider-Man: No Way Home, there's not going to be an end to the stream of Spidey movies getting churned out by Marvel and Sony anytime soon. There are tentative plans for a new movie trilogy with Tom Holland returning as Peter Parker, and perhaps that could be just one of many big projects for fans to look forward. Before we proceed in this story, be warned that MAJOR SPOILERS are ahead for Spider-Man: No Way Home.

Even if you haven't seen the movie, odds are high you're aware of No Way Home's biggest surprises at this point. The immense attention around the film surrounding the returning stars from past film franchises has pretty much made the spoilers impossible to avoid. As fans saw for the first time at the premiere, the sequel indeed brought back previous Spider-Man actors Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield. This followed several months of speculation with no official confirmation that either would be in the film.

Tom Holland's future as Spidey is under question, even if it seems probable that he'll be back for more web-slinging in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. So, what becomes of the other Spider-Men? For many fans who were stoked to see them both, it's bittersweet in some ways, as it left so many wanting to see more. It was nice to see the Maguire Spidey, but what else has been happening in the Raimi-Verse since the events of Spider-Man 3? The same thing applies to Garfield, who found some redemption in the new film. It's only left fans eager to see The Amazing Spider-Man 3.

These decisions aren't up to the screenwriters, but Spider-Man: No Way Home writers Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers are both hoping Maguire and Garfield will return as their Spideys once again at some point in the future. In a new interview with Variety, the pair fully endorses the idea of bringing them both back. In fact, they almost teased new stories for the Spider-Men with a mid-credit or post-credit scene in No Way Home.

“I would hope so!” McKenna said when asked if Maguire and Garfield would return. “I would love to see more of their journey. We even talked about, ‘Oh, we could do a [post-credit] tag with this one! We could do a tag with that one!'”

While he was presumably joking, Sommers went so far as to pitch a Scooby-Doo style series by adding, "Can we do a TV show with the two of them traveling around in a van solving mysteries?”

“Like, no, you weren’t supposed to say that,” McKenna joked back. “We are doing Tobey and Andrew in a van going from town to town!”

The Spider-Men in a Van series doesn't seem likely to happen, but given the success of No Way Home, new movies with Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield are not out of the question. Sam Raimi is even in the MCU fold now with the upcoming film Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, so maybe he'd be up for finally doing Spider-Man 4 with Maguire. The Amazing Spider-Man 3 is wanted by fans now more than ever as well because of the new film, so in any case, the odds are better now than they ever were before when it comes to both of these films happening.
