The weekend box office looks set to become Spider-Man dominated again as Spider-Man: No Way Home The More Fun Stuff Version has already won Friday with $1.75 million, and is currently heading for a $6.1 million weekend. While the amount doesn’t sound much in terms of Marvel releases, this is obviously a movie that people worldwide have already flocked to see in their millions back in December 2021 and the mere fact that it is once again beating all other movies currently on release is a testament to how popular the character is when it comes to pulling in audiences.

The new version of Tom Holland’s latest outing as the young webslinger adds an extra 11 minutes of footage that was not included in the original release. This means more of Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield, as well as previously extended scenes involving the movie’s many villains including Willem Dafoe’s Green Goblin, Alfred Molina’s Doc Ock and Jamie Fox’s Electro. Along with this added footage, the re-release also features a brand new post-credit scene which replaces the Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness trailer that accompanied the original release.

Ahead of the movie arriving back in cinemas, Sony and Marvel Studios finally gave fans a poster that featured all of the major players of the movie for the first time, with Holland, Maguire and Garfield sharing the limelight. After being one of the worst kept secrets, the appearance of the two previous Spider-Man actors became such a running joke that Garfield even continued to deny his involvement in the movie after its release, but more than nine months since No Way Home hit there are very few people who don’t now know all the secrets the movie has to offer.

Although Spider-Man: No Way Home brought Tom Holland’s Homecoming trilogy to a close, that does not mean Spider-Man is going anywhere just yet. While Sony still attempts to get their act together on their Universe of Spider-Man Characters after Morbius threatened to derail it, there are no such worries for the future of their collaboration on Spider-Man movies within the MCU as Tom Holland’s second trilogy of movies is apparently already being planned, and although Holland is not yet signed on for more movies, it was reported earlier this year that Spider-Man 4 is one of Sony’s “top priorities.” An insider previously revealed:

"Okay, so Sony may not have the biggest bench in terms of franchises, but it wisely made a deal with Marvel Studios to get its marquee character Spider-Man into the MCU, which helped make the studio's solo Spidey movies must-sees, even more so. And while plans are in motion for another Spidey trilogy starring Tom Holland, I don't believe he has actually signed a deal yet, so those plans remain unofficial for now. That said, I'm sure that more Spidey adventures with Holland are a top priority for Rothman & Co., which is also counting on him as the anchor of its budding Uncharted franchise as well."

While fans wait on news of when Holland may be swinging back into action as Peter Parker and his alter-ego, Spider-Man: No Way Home The More Fun Stuff Version is a good way to get that extra Spider-Man fix in the meantime.
