One character The Amazing Spider-Man never got around to showing was fan-favorite J. Jonah Jameson, Peter's boss at the Daily Bugle. While it was rumored that Jim Carrey might play a new version of Jameson in the big screen reboot, there were also plenty of rumblings that J.K. Simmons may reprise the iconic role. Now, the actor has backed up these rumors, claiming he's heard about the possibility of a new project that could see him return.

In a recent interview with Howard Stern, the radio legend asked J.K. Simmons if he was every going to do another Spider-Man. His answer was not 'no'. In fact, the actor states:

"I just heard that we...that's a possibility."

Howard Stern follows this up by asking if he even wants to come back to once again play J. Jonah Jameson. The actor's response:

"Absolutely."

This is interesting, not just because he might return, but also because he seems to indicate that another Spider-Man movie is currently in the works. As everyone knows by now, The Amazing Spider-Man 3 was put on ice because The Amazing Spider-Man 2 did not perform as expected at the box office, and it was not well-liked by fans or critics. Is Sony planning to announce The Amazing Spider-Man 3 soon? Possibly a reboot? Or is J.K. Simmons talking about The Sinister Six spinoff, which, as far as we know, is still set for November 2016? Either way you slice it, having J.K. Simmons back as J. Jonah Jameson should make a lot of people very happy.
