Everybody's favorite web-slinger is preparing to return to New York City, this time on the Broadway stage. Marvel Vice President Peter Cuneo spoke to IESB.net about the future plans for Spider-Man: The Musical, and it seems that things are moving forward nicely for the show.

Julie Taymor is confirmed as the director, and U2's Bono and The Edge have completed the score. Cuneo says that Marvel is "very pleased" with the show, which has already been completed.

So, when can we expect to see it? Possibly as soon as late '09. "...actually it's a challenge to find a theater on Broadway right now," Cuneo said. "These things are all scheduled, as you might imagine, well in advance. So the timing is more related to getting a theater than it is to the progress of the show."

We'll keep you up to date with more information about Spider-Man: The Musical as it becomes available!
