With this past week's release of Spider-Man: Homecoming director Jon Watt's much-anticipated follow-up Spider-Man: Far From Home starring Tom Holland as Peter Parker, we have been slammed with Spider-Man related news over and over. But what about Gwen Stacy AKA Spider-Woman? Better yet, what about The Amazing Spider-Man and The Amazing Spider-Man 2 star Emma Stone returning as Gwen Stacy in a Spider-Woman movie? Awesome, right? Well, today we have a killer bit of fan art depicting just that.

Actually, if you want to get technical about the whole thing, this fan poster seems to be another one for a Spider-Man: Spiderverse movie, not a standalone Gwen Stacy movie, but still. Don't know what Spider-Man: Spiderverse is? Well, it's been all the rage on these here internets the past few weeks. It's not a real movie (yet) so that you know, but it centers on all of us fans hoping to one day see a film where Tom Holland's Spider-Man: Homecoming and Spider-Man: Far From Home Peter Parker joins forces with Tobey Maguire's Peter Parker from Sam Raimi's Spider-Man movies and Andrew Garfield's Peter Parker from director Marc Weeb's above-mentioned The Amazing Spider-Man and The Amazing Spider-Man 2. And so you see where Emma Stone's potential Spider-Gwen fits in. Kind of.

Anyhow, you can check out the killer fan poster of Emma Stone as a live-action Spider-Gwen below!

Now, I don't know about you, but a Gwen Stacy / Spider-Gwen standalone movie seems to be a perfect way for Sony to keep the Spider-Man saga going on the big screen. After all, we'll soon be seeing versions of Batgirl and Supergirl in our local multiplexes, so this is truly the best time to greenlight a Gwen Stacy / Spider-Woman movie if you ask me. And truth be told, I'm a bit impartial when it comes to seeing Gwen Stacy get her own big screen flick. After all, my seven-year-old daughter has been all about Spider-Gwen following her endless viewings of Spider-Man Into the Spiderverse. In fact, as we speak and as I'm typing this article out this very morning, my daughter is popping in an out of my office, dressed head to toe in the Spider-Gwen outfit she just got for her birthday. One of the joys of working from home, am I right?

The last time we saw Emma Stone as Gwen Stacy up on the big screen was in Marc Webb's The Amazing Spider-Man 2 co-starring Andrew Garfield as Peter Parker / Spider-Man, Jamie Foxx as Max Dillon / Electro, and Dane DeHaan as Harry Osborn / Green Goblin. Webb directed that movie from a screenplay written by Alex Kurtzman, Roberto Orci, and Jeff Pinkner based on a story by Kurtzman, Orci, Pinkner and James Vanderbilt based on the classic character created by Stan Lee and Steve Ditko. Avi Arad produced the movie along with Matt Tolmach, and Sony Pictures Releasing unleashed The Amazing Spider-Man 2 into a theater near you back on May 2, 2014.
