Spike Lee is all set to shoot his next film. According to Variety, it will be a World War II drama set in Italy. Titled Miracle at St. Anna, it will be based on James McBride's novel of the same name.

The book revolves around a group of black American soldiers fighting the German army in the mountains of Tuscany. Lee's movie will tell of four soldiers who became trapped in a Tuscan village, where they have to content with racism, incompetent commanders, and the Nazis.

McBride will be penning the screenplay from his own work. Casting is currently underway. There is no word on when the film will begin shooting.
