The life of Marvel Comics legend Stan Lee will be celebrated at a public memorial being held on Wednesday, January 30. The event, officially titled Excelsior! A Celebration of the Amazing, Fantastic, Incredible & Uncanny Life of Stan Lee, will be hosted by Kevin Smith, a huge fan of Lee's and a friend of his. The memorial will feature a wide array of special guests who worked with and loved the creator throughout his long career.

Legion M, Agents of Mayhem, Kevin Smith's Smodco and Stan Lee's Pow! Entertainment have all joined forces to make the event happen. The memorial will be open to the public, with tickets for the event going on sale today. The scheduled happenings will take place at the legendary TLC Chinese Theater in Hollywood, California. Tickets start at $150 for what is billed as the "Adamantium Fan Pass," with the "Vibranium Fan Pass," which includes red carpet access, going for $200. At the $150 level, tickets are limited to four per order. At the $200 level, it's just two per order.

The event will begin with a public appreciation of Stan Lee's life and work in the TLC Chinese Theater forecourt and will feature fan-favorite speakers, an art exhibit celebrating Stan's legacy by famed pop-culture artist Rob Prior, costumes and props from Stan's cameos and creations, a musical performance and a special moment of remembrance centered around Stan Lee's hand and foot imprint. After that, there will be a private tribute inside the IMAX Theatre hosted by Kevin Smith, who will moderate conversations with celebrity speakers. Guests include Mark Hamill, Rob Liefeld, Michael Uslan, Vincent D'Onofrio, RZA and Tom DeSanto, amongst others.

Stan Lee passed away in November at the age of 95. Lee, along with the help of artists such as Jack Kirby and Steve Ditko, helped create some of the most iconic characters in all of pop culture, including Spider-Man, the X-Men, the Fantastic Four, The Incredible Hulk, Black Panther, Doctor Strange and near countless others. Since his passing, fans the world over have been mourning his loss and celebrating his work.

There is no word on if there will be a live stream of the event, or if it will be recorded and released online at some point after the fact. Excelsior! A Celebration of the Amazing, Fantastic, Incredible & Uncanny Life of Stan Lee is open to anyone who would like to attend. However, tickets are limited, so those who would like to go may want to get on it sooner rather than later. We also have the full event schedule for you to check below.
