Stan Lee is returning to his roots as a creator of superheroes, this time in partnership with Virgin Comics. SCI FI Wire reports that the creator of Spider-Man will begin work on a new universe of superheroes with a set of 10 graphic novels.
The new universe will debut in 2009 with the graphic novels which will be linked to a series of online animated shorts. This universe will center on a team of 10 heroes from all walks of life and superheroic origin.
Lee is best known for his lengthy tenure as editor-in-chief at Marvel Comics, and he is credited with at least partial credit for the creation of most of Marvel's best known creations, including Spider-Man, The Hulk, The Fantastic Four and The X-Men.
