Sony is merging two different stories for its upcoming Untitled Greek God Project, which brings the Greek Gods to earth. Apollo Rising, which is based on an idea by legendary Marvel superhero creator Stan Lee and was developed with Stan Lee and Spider-Man producer Avi Arad at the studio, will be brought together with Eternal, a spec script written by Red Queen author Victoria Aveyard. It was purchased by Sony last year. Both projects are said to be very similar.

Eternal is a modern day take on the Greek Gods arriving on earth, and features minotaurs. Apollo Rising is about the Greek Gods living amongst humans on earth in hidden forms.

Avi Arad and Stan Lee are staying on the project as producers, alongside Michael Costigan, Divergent producer Pouya Shabazian, and Benderspink's J.C. Spink and Jake Weiner.

When Sony purchased the rights to Eternal last year, there was talk that they did so to take it off the market, with the plan always in play to combine it with Apollo Rising. That idea went back and forth at the studio for quite some time. Now, it sounds like all involved have come up with the perfect combination of both written works.

The story may focus on Greek God of music and Poetry Apollo, who carries a silver bow and the gift of prophecy. His twin sister Artemis is a huntress who carries a bow and arrow, and is said to be reminiscent of Katniss from The Hunger Games in this iteration.
