Last month, we reported that original Star Trek TV series stars William Shatner and Leonard Nimoy may reunited for a scene in the highly-anticipated Star Trek 3. While William Shatner initially dismissed the report, he later confirmed that producer J.J. Abrams reached out to the actor to see if he'd be interested in appearing in the sequel.

Badass Digest, who first broke the original story last month, now reports that William Shatner is going to be a part of the movie and that this scene will feature his "future alt-timeline" version of Captain Kirk meeting Chris Pine's present-day version of the character. Zachary Quinto and Leonard Nimoy will also be present in the scene that "will have Kirk and Spock interacting with their future selves."

It isn't known if there will be time travel elements at play in Star Trek 3 that will allow this historic meeting to take place, or where in the movie this scene takes place. As you may recall, last year's Star Trek Into Darkness ended with Chris Pine and Zachary Quinto's Kirk and Spock setting off on their five-year mission, with a report from last month revealing that Star Trek 3 will take place in the midst of this mission.

We also reported last month that filming will begin within the next six month, with another report from last week revealing that shooting will take place in Seoul, South Korea.
