Patrick Stewart reunited with his crew from Star Trek: The Next Generation last night for dinner on Earth. Marina Sirtis posted the picture of the crew on social media, leading to speculation that they could have been talking about Stewart's new Star Trek Picard Series, which is currently in development. The reunion photo includes Captain Jean-Luc Picard (Patrick Stewart), Data (Brent Spiner), Geordi La Forge (LeVar Burton), Worf (Michael Dorn), Deanna Troi (Marina Sirtis) and, Beverly Crusher (Gates McFadden). Sadly, William Riker (Jonathan Frakes) apparently wasn't able to make it to the reunion dinner.

The crew of Star Trek: The Next Generation more than likely got together for a friendly meal. They all worked together during the course of seven seasons of the hit show as well as multiple films, so it seems obvious that they would want to get together and catch up. However, they must have at least discussed Patrick Stewart's series that will focus on the next chapter of Jean-Luc Picard's life. Gates McFadden recently revealed that she has not been approached about the show and had no idea if she and the rest of the cast would be involved. Hopefully, they figured that all out last night.

Brent Spiner also recently talked about Patrick Stewart's upcoming Star Trek series. He also had not been approached about the show as of last month, but said that he was excited for it no matter what. Spiner went on to praise Stewart's acting chops and called Jean-Luc Picard "one of his greatest characters." It would make sense to see at least a few cameos from the cast of Star Trek: The Next Generation in the upcoming series. Plus, it would be really exciting for fans to see.

Patrick Stewart shocked Star Trek fans last month when he announced that he would be starring in a new CBS All Access series, reprising his iconic role of Jean-Luc Picard. Back in 2002, the actor felt that Star Trek: The Next Generation had run its course, but he now feels that it's time to bring Captain Picard back to explore new dimensions. Stewart also noted that the idea came up unexpectedly and says that he is "excited and invigorated to be returning to Jean-Luc Picard and to explore new dimensions within him."

While details about the untitled Captain Picard Star Trek series are unknown, executive producer Michael Chabon recently posted a picture from the writing room of "some cosmographical science." The picture doesn't really look like much, but fans of the franchise are just pleased to know that headway is being made in the development process. It will more than likely be a while before we get any concrete news about the show, since it was just announced, but in the meantime, you can check out the Next Generation reunion below, thanks to Marina Sirtis' Twitter account.
