The crew members aboard the USS Voyager have apparently found their way back to Earth, as the Star Trek: Voyager cast has gotten back together as seen in a recent reunion photo posted online. Recently, the actors had boarded the Star Trek Voyager cruise to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the show, which first debuted on television in January of 1995. Additionally, parts of the reunion had been documented by filmmakers for an upcoming documentary exploring Star Trek: Voyager.

Much to the delight of Star Trek: Voyager fans online, actor Tim Russ - who played the Vulcan Chief of Security, Tuvok on the show - recently tweeted a photo of himself alongside many of his Voyager co-stars. This includes Roxann Dawson (B'Elanna Torres), Kate Mulgrew (Captain Kathryn Janeway), Jeri Ryan (Seven of Nine), Robert Picardo (The Doctor), Garrett Wang (Harry Kim), and Ethan Phillips (Neelix). Though Chakotay, Tom Paris, and Kes aren't present, it's an awesome photo to see for fans, and you can take a look at it below.

While Star Trek shows are typically about Starfleet vessels exploring space to "boldly go where no man has gone before," the concept of Voyager takes a much different approach. The series begins with the starship Voyager and its crew getting stranded in the Delta Quadrant very, very far away from home. As the crew traverses space on their way back home, they encounter many new alien species and locations previously unseen in the Star Trek franchise, really making Voyager stand out on its own. The series would ultimately run for seven seasons with a total of 172 episodes, airing between 1995 and 2001.

With The Next Generation getting a sequel series of sorts with the new CBS All Access show Star Trek: Picard}, the subject of a Voyager reunion show or revival series has picked up some chatter amongst fans of the franchise. Jeri Ryan, who reprises her Voyager role on Picard, spoke about the concept in January, but while she'd be up for some type of reunion special, she doesn't seem too eager to jump into a full-on series reboot. "I don't necessarily need to do a Voyager show again. I think that I've done that," Ryan says, though she admits she'd still love to "reunite with some of those characters."

There probably isn't going to be a Voyager sequel series entering development anytime soon, but that doesn't mean we'll never see these characters again. Seven of Nine appearing on Picard opens the door for other Voyager characters to appear for special appearances as well, perhaps to even reunite with Seven of Nine. It's also important to remember that just a few years ago, the idea of Patrick Stewart coming back as Jean-Luc Picard for an all-new solo series would have seemed highly unrealistic, but here we are now with the show finding great success on CBS All Access. We'll see what the future holds. The Voyager cast reunion photo shown above comes to us from Tim Russ on Twitter.
