Over the past few years, some of the biggest reveals from major blockbusters have come in the form of early action figure images, leaked sometimes years before the movie's impending release. It shouldn't come as a huge surprise then that an image featuring five action figures from Star Wars: The Force Awakens has appeared online, giving us a new look at Finn (John Boyega), Kylo Ren (???), Rey (Daisy Ridley), the popular ball droid BB-8 and everyone's favorite Wookie, Chewbacca.
This Chewbacca action figure appears to debunk recent reports that the iconic character will have a robotic arm, since there doesn't appear to be any bionic appendages on the wookie. The first figure on the far left has not been confirmed as Kylo Ren, the cloaked figure wielding the unique lightsaber from the first trailer. We never see what the character's face and/or mask looks like in the trailer. There is a second theory that the figure could be for the mysterious Captain Phasma, a character rumored to be played by Gwendoline Christie (Game of Thrones), but that has not been confirmed either. The other three figures are rather straight-forward, although Finn's toy gives us our first "look" at the character in civilian clothes, and not his Stormtrooper outfit, while Rey also sports a different outfit than we saw in the trailer.
These figures are reportedly just the prototypes, and it isn't known when they may be available for purchase. Director J.J. Abrams' Star Wars: The Force Awakens hits theaters on December 18, 2015, so we'll have to wait and see how long before the release these toys will go on sale. Are you ready to purchase these action figures right now? Or do you want to see more before making a final decision? Chime in with your thoughts below.
