The mysteries behind Star Wars: The Force Awakens are slowly being lifted as we get closer and closer to that December 2015 release date. This past Monday, May 4th, was the official LucasFilm holiday know as Star Wars Day. And with it brought plenty of new photos and character reveals. One of the characters we learned a little bit more about was Maz Kanata, played by Lupita Nyong'o. While we got to see photos of her in her motion-capture outfit, we have yet to see the actual alien. But that changes today with leaked concept art.

While we still don't know too much about Lupita Nyong'o's role in the story of Star Wars: The Force Awakens, we do know that she is a space pirate. It was previously rumored that she runs a bar not unlike the Cantina seen in the first film. It's here that she guides Finn (John Boyega) and Rey (Daisy Ridley) on their quest to return a lightsaber to its former Jedi master.

From this art, it looks like Maz Kanata fits more into the vibe of the prequel trilogy more so than the original trilogy. That might be because she is motion-capture CGI and not a practice effect. It isn't known how far along in the production process this image is from, or if this is her official final look. We could just be looking at a pre-sketch of the alien. What do you think? Is this an action figure you're excited to get your hands on?
