Being best friends with director J.J. Abrams certainly has its perks. While the rest of the world only got a tease of what to expect from Star Wars: The Force Awakens with the latest trailer, one of Abrams' former Star Trek cast members has seen a bit more. And he has nothing but extreme praise for the movie and what it will mean to fans disappointed by the prequel trilogy.

While Simon Pegg has his own sci-fi series to worry about as he sets out to co-write the Star Trek 3 screenplay, he did take a break to check out the trailer released this past weekend at Star Wars Celebration. But he's also seen more than just that footage. And he thinks it will exceed any and all expectations, no matter how big they are. He boldly proclaims:

"I think the trailer is better than all of the prequels put together. I've seen a fair bit, and it will blow the world to pieces. Its everything we wanted. If that made you shiver, you will leave the cinema vibrating."

Simon Pegg was long rumored to have a cameo role in Star Wars: The Force Awakens after being spotted on the set last year. This has never been confirmed by anyone official, though many still speculate that he'll at least have a voice role in the long-anticipated sequel. The actor doesn't go onto reveal anything else about the plot. But his love for the sequel seems to be enough, as he has long been an outspoken critic of the George Lucas directed prequel trilogy. Simon Pegg isn't known for giving praise where it isn't due, so he probably isn't just saying nice thing's about his friend's work. But will the movie be able to stand-up to his words of praise? We won't truly know until December. You can watch his interview here:
