Earlier in the year, Lucasfilm launched the Star Wars: A Force for Change program, which went onto raise an unprecedented $4.26 million for Unicef Innovation Labs from donors in 125 countries around the globe. To say thank you, director J.J. Abrams has released a new video which reveals our first look at Chewbacca on the set of Star Wars: The Force Awakens. Also included is a special message from the director himself, along with members of the cast and crew offering their gratitude to fans across the galaxy. R2D2 also shows up for a quick thank you.

In the video, J.J. Abrams explains how Star Wars Force for Change has raised $4.26 million, which will directly benefit UNICEF's life saving programs to support children across the globe. Thousands of children will now benefit from UNICEF's pioneering efforts to increase access to education, health resources, and improve communications during emergencies for those who need it most. Disney committed an additional $1 million to support the campaign. The money will support the equivalent of 7-8 new innovation labs to aid children and families.

That's all really great, but we know you all want to see the return of Chewbacca. He is seen on set without any CGI effects, and we don't get to see if he is truly missing a limb, as has been reported in many rumor stories over the past couple of months. Its also not confirmed whether or not this is truly actor Peter Mayhew under the mask. Either way, its fun to see the Wookie return. May the force be with you!
