Domhnall Gleeson, one of the new cast members aboard J.J. Abrams' Star Wars: Episode VII, is in talks to join The Revenant for New Regency.

Leonardo DiCaprio stars in the Western as 1820s fur trader Hugh Glass, who is mauled by an enormous grizzly bear and then robbed by a group of men before being left for dead. After he somehow manages to survive, Hugh sets off on a quest for vengeance against those who robbed him. No details were given for Domhnall Gleeson's role. He joins a cast that also incldues Tom Hardy and Will Poulter in unspecified roles.

Alejandro González Iñárritu is directing from an adapted script he wrote with Mark L. Smith, based on the Michael Punke novel of the same name. Steve Golin, Keith Redmon, David Kanter, Arnon Milchan and James W. Skotchdopole are producing, with shooting scheduled to begin this fall.

Domhnall Gleeson will next be seen in Frank and Unbroken later this year.
