A new era of Star Wars is finally here. Following months of speculation and conjecture, LucasFilm and Disney Pictures have finally released the first trailer for Star Wars: The Force Awakens, giving fans their first look at director J.J. Abrams' highly-anticipated sci-fi sequel. This Star Wars adventure is set 30 years after Star Wars: Episode VI - Return of the Jedi, following two new heroes who team up with the classic characters we love on an exciting new journey across the galaxy.

The first footage from the movie introduces John Boyega, who is revealed as a storm trooper in the desert. We also get our first glimpse at Daisy Ridley's character, along with shots of a speedy droid, an X-wing, the new stormtroopers, and the return of the Millennium Falcon. Check out the first footage from arguably the most eagerly-awaited film to come out this century, arriving in theaters December 18, 2015.

You can also catch this 88-second tease of Star Wars 7 on the big screen in 30 theaters across North America beginning today, November 28. Following this weekend, the tease can be seen in theaters around the world this December. Check local listings for details.
