When Star Wars: The Force Awakens was in production, Disney was very protective of any secrets leaking out onto the Internet. Of course, there was a dearth of rumors that came out, but the studio didn't confirm any of these details, and we didn't know a whole lot about the story until the film hit theaters on December 18. Production is already under way on Star Wars: Episode VIII, which is set for release on December 15, 2017, and Entertainment Tonight recently caught up with actress Daisy Ridley, who revealed that new director Rian Johnson will be "freer" with the footage and secrets in this movie. Here's what the actress had to say below.

"I think Rian actually wants to be a bit cheekier with the little tidbits of information that are going out. You can see, even with the way Mark and Carrie posted pictures with their chairs, it's a little bit freer than it was."

Disney and LucasFilm revealed last month that Star Wars 8 has started production, releasing the first video from the set that reveals this sequel picks up exactly where Star Wars: The Force Awakens left off. Before principal photography started, writer-director Rian Johnson shoot footage at Skellig Michael Island off the coast of Ireland, with Daisy Ridley and Mark Hamill, shooting scenes at Luke Skywalker's remote Jedi temple. Daisy Ridley also revealed that, even with a new director in place, the set is just as friendly as the last movie.

"No, it's still very lovely and warm and friendly just like 7 was."
