Earlier today, we reported that Lando Calrissian will not return in Star Wars: The Force Awakens, although there is a possibility of Billy Dee Williams' character returning in future Star Wars movies. Another beloved character from the Star Wars franchise who won't be popping up in Star Wars: The Force Awakens is the bounty hunter Boba Fett, although there have been rumors that the second anthology film, which director Josh Trank recently dropped out of, will focus on Boba Fett. This has yet to be confirmed. Whether or not that rumor is true, producer and LucasFilm president Kathleen Kennedy has revealed in a recent interview that Boba Fett is certainly a "high priority" at LucasFilm. When asked if the Ewoks from Star Wars: Episode VI - Return of the Jedi could return, she seemed less certain. Here's what the producer had to say below.

"Don't worry: Boba Fett is a high priority among our list, please wait. But seeing how the Ewoks could return is a little harder to imagine. It is quite difficult to give the many stars of Star Wars their own stories on film."

It's worth noting that, in Star Wars: Episode VI - Return of the Jedi, Boba Fett fell into the Sarlaac Pit, where it was assumed that he was eaten by the monster. LucasFilm's Jonathan Rinzler revealed last year that he has had conversations with George Lucas himself, where he said that Boba Fett did survive and found some way to escape. With that being said, FI7hjTMUWL2zb9|+|Star Wars: The Force Awakens} is set 30 years after Star Wars: Episode VI - Return of the Jedi, where Boba Fett could still be alive and well, making it possible for him to return in Star Wars: Episode VIII or Star Wars: Episode IX.

It has long been rumored that the second Star Wars anthology movie will tell Boba Fett's origin story, which would make his "survival" in the Sarlaac Pit a moot point, since the story will be set several years earlier. Still, nothing has been confirmed at this time. It's clear that Boba Fett will certainly be popping up at some point in either the forthcoming sequels or the stand alone anthology movies. What do you think about Boba Fett finally returning in one of these upcoming Star Wars movies?
