Since we haven't heard any official word about casting for Star Wars: Episode VII, rumors are the best we can give you right now. Today, we have word that the production has sent out a casting call that could mean everyone's favorite Wookie, Chewbacca, is set to return. While the casting call doesn't specifically say the role is Chewbacca, take a look at the type of actor Disney and LucasFilm are looking for.

"Male, 7 ft to 7.3 ft tall with a slim/thin build and upright posture. Not too worked out or too 'thick set' especially in the shoulders. Broad facial features would be a bonus."

Of course, since we know very little about the story, it is possible that this casting call is for a completely different, yet very tall character. Peter Mayhew, who played Chewbacca in Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope, Star Wars: Episode V - The Empire Strikes Back, Star Wars: Episode VI - Return of the Jedi and Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith, stood 7'3" tall. The actor recently underwent a knee surgery, which puts him out of the running to return as Chewbacca or any other Wookie. The actor last portrayed the character in 2005's Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith.

The casting call also seemingly confirms a report from August, which revealed that production is getting under way in January 2014 at Pinewood Studios in London. The notice also listed J.J. Abrams, Kathleen Kennedy and Bryan Burk as producers, with Tommy Harper serving as executive producer. The casting call is for an "Untitled Studio Feature" from "Walt Disney Pictures/LucasFilm/Bad Robot," so it's safe to assume this notice is for Star Wars: Episode VII.
